Pediatrician and obstetrician costs...?

I need to know the cost of each of these things:
in pediatrician care... Delivery service, office calls, and immunizations.
in obstetrician care... Prenatal care, delivery, and postnatal care.

I need to know atleast an estimate. Not something like "WAyyy too much!"

Each routine office visit $120-$160
Routine labs $70-$150
Ultrasound $500-$1000
Delivery
c-section $8,000-$12,000
vaginal $3,000-$6,000
Hospital stay $1,000-$5,000
Newborn Charges $2,000-$4,000


OH and immunizations range from $120-$400 each shot depending on which one.


I work at an insurance company, so I am going off estimates from claims I have seen for these services

In the state i live in, the services you are asking about total about $16,000.
However, a Certified Nurse Midwife who preforms the same tasks far more personally and warmly cost me $3,500.
I'll never see an OB again, after knowing what my midwife is capable of.

Sorry, can't help you! I have insurance, probably some of the best insurance except medicaid in which case everything is free. I only had to pay an initial co-pay of $15, and everything was paid for. For the pediatrician, I have a $10 co-pay every visit.

Well so far I'veee paid over 1000 and I'v had 2 office visits. and 2 u/s and blood work. but I am seeing a private ob, Its hard to find someone doc that take cash pay. So its allot so far. I am applying for Healthy Families I can not keep this up. And they say for a safe normal delivery its about 6000 and for a c-section delivery its almost 10,000.

Normally, this service is offered as a package deal. For instance, an OB's package would include prenatal care, delivery and postnatal as well as labs, but maybe not ultrasound. My cousin & his GF paid about $3000 for all of this 2.5 years ago. The hospital bill is separate and was around 3,000. Expect it to be more if you are not at a community hospital. They did not have a pediatrician except at the hospital - they use a GP and get vaccinations through the health dept. (a new program started last year allows children to get vaccinations anywhere in my state for free or low cost if you have no insurance - check with your health dept.). The ped bill at the hospital (no choice) was about $200 (newborn check and checkout). Their office calls are about $50 per visit for the GP, but they only went 3 times during the first year using recommended adjusted schedule (2 months, 6 months and 12 months). As mentioned, they had been going through the health dept. for immunizations and now can go to the same clinic for them.

The well baby check in the US is ridiculously excessive unless a preemie or health condition is present. You do not need to see a doctor to get a vaccination.

Re: adjusted visit schedule. Talk to your doc about it. The months I listed above were recommended by the ped. at the hospital. All of the costs were discounted for prepaid cash. They took loans off their cars to pay for everything and avoid a whopping interest rate.
