Hi. I have a question about my resume. I went to the career office at my community college with the version?

that I had. The counselor looked it over & made a couple of suggestions on how to tweak it, but it basically wasn't so bad. HOWEVER, she stated that it would be a good idea to put an objective on my resume.

I had thought that it wasn't necessary any longer to put an objective, but said ok. She said try to figure out what you want to to do.

I want a job! A real job! a grown-up job!

The problem is I'm not sure what I want to do. I enjoyed the advertising sales that I did for 3 years, but did not like the quota aspect of it. Or the driving around.

I'm currently working in retail making 8.50 an hour.

How to word a goal of a clerical job with sales-like interaction?

I kind of want something that sounds professional but makes the following point:

Job Objective: A position that allows me to grow within an organization where my clerical and sales experience would be an asset.

But that sounds like b s fluff to me

You might say that you're seeking a job that will make use of your office and sales skills. But what would you like to do ultimately? You might include that as well.

Objectives are unnecessary...everyone "wants a job with growth potential." Try a Profile section instead.
