I'm I crazy?

I am a recent graduate from college. I put myself through school with loans. I am lost right now, I went to the military recruiter's office today. I wasn't sure that I wanted to sign. After I left the recruiter put me on the spot. I said sure sign me up for an appointment at MEPS. However, I really believe I need to take control of my life and not have the military do it. I feel guilty because I am impulsive and keep changing my mind. The recruiter is very good at his job. He builds my passion and motivation then I leave the office and second guess the decision. I am not in DEP so if I do not process then it won't matter. If I had a job right now I would not even think about the service. I quit my manual labor job because I thought I was going to enlist. However, I did soul searching and the military is not for me. I thought the military would change me, but I would be the same person but in a different environment.

yes

stop being a big baby and join the frickin military that don't give a shyt about if you live or die. yeah make ur mom and dad(or whatever family and friends u got) cry and sit and pray u dont get sent 2 iraq then come back with no legs and have to go bankrupt paying for medical bills cuz the damn government don't care about you when you get home. THERE I HOPE THAT MADE YOU STOP THINKING ABOUT ENLISTING. now go get a job and hush puppy

Listen! use the college degree and go get yourself a job that you will love!!!! after spending all that money on college go out and apply yourself! Don't worry about hurting the recruiter's feelings. It's his job to recruit people in. Once you are in it is on to the next. Sounds like you have cold feet about actually being out there in the real world. Don't worry....life is what you make it! You say the military is not for you. I say get out of it while you still have the chance. Good luck!

The military is a very huge commitment. Once you sign up you are there's for how ever long your contract is for, doing what they want and going where they send you.

If there is any doubt in your mind about it, don't do it. You should only join the military if you are 100% sure that's what you want to do with the next handful of years of your life. If you can't say with excitement or determination that this is what you want, then you shouldn't do it. You are talking something that is/will put you in a war zone for 15 months (current length of deployment...18 months for extended deployment, and you don't get the choice). If you have any doubt of what you are doing, you aren't going to be completely safe. You're entire head and heart needs to be in this.

It took my husband almost a year to research and such before joining the military. And he only signed up after he was 100% sure it was what he wanted to do.

Call the recruiter and tell them that this is not for you. The military does not want people in it that don't want to be there.

From there, pursue careers in the field you graduated in. You may have to work a manual labor job for a little while. Just remember, you only have to stay at a job for as long as you want. Nothing is permanent unless you make it.
