How do I get a job working at a hospital?

I have customer service and computer experience and I want to get a job at a hospital. I have applied for several clerical positions at several different hospitals but never hear anything back. I meet all the qualifications listed for these jobs except the job posting will usually state that medical office experience is preferred. Sometimes I think they want call me for a interview because I don't have any medical experience. How do I get medical experience if no one will hire me. Why is it so hard to get a job working at a hospital?

My wife was in the same boat as you. The only advice she and I can give is apply apply apply. I believe she applied to 50+ hospital positions online as well as several follow up phone calls before she received her first position in a hospital.
