The mindless "American"?

I love my country but more and more i see things that i can not abide by. Taking away from my freedoms are one of them. Were does it say a small group of people can make up my mind as with the electoral college? there are loads of documents here on the net that shows just how curupt the electoral college can be and in my opinion is. The electoral web site is one such place"The process for selecting electors varies throughout the United States. Generally, the political parties nominate electors at their State party conventions or by a vote of the party's central committee in each State. Electors are often selected to recognize their service and dedication to their political party" and then goes on to say: " It is possible that an elector could ignore the results of the popular vote, but that occurs very rarely." how can this work in a democracy? how can we in good conscious vote for a person to office that does not support the constitution that our nation was founded on? any vote is bad

Um, I hate to say it, but you are barking up the wrong tree. The electoral college is set down IN THE CONSTITUTION (Art. II, clause 3), then amended by the 12th Amendment. That means every vote cast by an elector is actually supporting the Constitution by abiding by its terms.

Many, many proposed amendments tinkering with or eliminating the electoral college have been put forth, but none has gone anywhere. And since it's of constitutional magnitude, it requires an amendment to change.
