no as long as get the papers maybe from city hall and are married by a person of authity to do so you are married but only there if you come to united states you will have to fill out papers to be legally married here to have the united states recognize it

If you legally want to be married when you get married abroad then there is a whole bunch of proceedures you have to do to make it legal, or you can just do the ceremony there and then just legally get married back in your home country, up to you.

You have to have all your paperwork done in the state you live in, so it won't be legal until you come back and finish your paperwork.
