Has anyone ever been given poor service from Army recruiters? |
For over a month, I have experienced poor service from three different Army reserve recruiters. The first one didn't seem very interested in getting back to me on information I needed regarding the MOS I was interested in (21T), so I switched to another recruiter who I felt was more proactive. I took the ASVAB and scored a 90 and then was trying to get an appointment for the physical at Fort Gillam MEPs. She was supposed to get back to me after I had called her to try and make an appointment to get taken to MEPs.....she never did. So I tried one last recruiter last week, who was supposed to get back to me. When I didnt hear back from her, I called her office and this other abrupt SGT picks up the phone when I asked for her and he was like "she's not here man." I was like ok is she coming back ever? And he was like she's gone to school and won't be back for weeks. At this point, I don't even feel like I should bother serving. Sucks because I was looking to it. To the son of a ***** who said I am handicap, one of the recruiters recommended me for 18X. So do your math, idiot. But anyways, it seems idiots are the ones who would say I am not giving the full story rather than take accountability for incompetent recruiters. If I was not serious about joining, I would not have taken the ASVAB and even tried to make an appointment to go to MEPS. To the idiot marine who made an ignorant statement, my oldest brother was a marine for 10 years and there are brave folks in my family thank you. Don't get mad at me because the Army has some bad and incompetent recruiters.....its just how it is. Thanks for the ignorant responses, goes to show why many soldiers are accidentally killed over in Iraq due to negligence. If you can't handle contacting someone over the phone then maybe you shouldnt enlist. We need competent people serving in our esteemed armed forces. YES that's why I am in the Navy! I can't even begin to GUESS what your physical handicap is... but obviously YOU HAVE ONE... and you are NOT TELLING THE WHOLE STORY so I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you are not being forceful enough with them...you've got to bully Army recruiters into getting what you want...call everyday twice a day if you have to...I know, I had the same issue recruiter-wise...keep on them if you REALLY want to join...and if you are gonna complain, Soldiers are dying and we dont need complainers so move on. yeah. that's really unfortunate. I'm in the National Guard right now and my recruiter back then was great. At times like these, it's amazing how inconsiderate some of these recruiters can be despite how eagar you seem to be to serve. I enlisted, did ROTC at school, then got comissioned as an officer. With the economy as it is, I've been trying to go Active Duty. One of the Active Duty recruiters basically told me I'd have to get demoted like 6 grades for him to do anything for me. I did my research and found that most recruiters don't get credit for officers so that's why he did that. I should have locked him up right then and there. Sadly a lot of recruiters are more concerned with their numbers than actually people. My advice for you is to not give up. If it's something you want to do, then do the research and do it. The goarmy website lets you find recruiters in your area. If you've been unsuccessful, call up another recruiter in your state. Those recruiters have government vehicles are willing to travel somewhat far to meet with some good leads. Also, if you're looking to serve part-time the National Guard is another option. If education benefits are one of your major interests, as much as the Reserves or Guard advertise, the Active Army really has the best education benefits. Recruiters throughout also hook you up more if you bring a few buddies with you too. Hopefully this helps and just ask and I'll talk to you more off-line if you have any other Army questions. Army Strong... HOOAH! |
