This note was left in my door what is it for?

it is from the U.S office of personnel management Federal Investigative Services and it states: it is necessary that i speak with you regarding an indivdual who is being considered for a position of trust with the U.S government. your comments regarding this individual's fitness and suitability would be greatly appreciated. and left a contact number..have you received one of this? and if so what to do?

A friend of yours is probably trying to get some sort of clearance. I was a reference for a friend of mine and they called and talked to me. The funny thing is that if someone did put you down, they should have called you and told you.

They are doing a background investigation on someone you know (friend, relative, neighbor, etc.) who applied with them for a job.

Call them and talk to them. No one is in any trouble.

Someone who claimed you as a character witness is trying to obtain a security clearance in their job.

A friend or neighbor is applying for a high security position with the government
