Help single mom who wants to learn a career but don't know what any ideas?

I am a single mom who wants to better my situation, I would like to go to school to learn something but I dont know what. I have always worked in an office I work in a dealership, I have worked in the accounting dept, that did not work out, service, receptionist, and now I am in parts with light acct. duties its ok but my with my position I cant really grow and ask for more money. my sisters went to school and learned something one is a medical asst and one is a dental asst. But seeing that I am more of an office type person I would like some ideas of what I can do because I am having a hard time deciding, I want to go to one of those schools that I can graduate from in less than a year or no more than a year I live in dallas, Tx so if you have any ideas please let me know. I just want something diffrent with better pay. also I was never any good at math is why I think the accting thing did not work out so if you can help me find something that doesnt consist with alot of math.

I don't mean to sound rude, but you do have to work on your spelling and grammar. Someone mentioned legal assistant and a paralegal and based on your spelling and grammar this probably wouldn't work. Be realistic about what you are capable of handling. There are very few courses that will provide you enough in a year to land you a great paying job. Maybe you should stick to receptionist or you could take courses in medical billing. This is a great job and it doesn't require math - you just have to learn medical coding and insurance information. Doctor's offices and hospitals are always in need of billers. The only thing that is mandatory is accuracy and knowledge of the rules etc., but it is easy to learn. Good luck to you - I was a single mom too and I know it's tough - just be realistic about your abilities. I actually have a college degree - but it's History Liberal Arts and I decided I didn't want to teach - I worked in childcare when my boys were small because I wanted to be with them. When their dad left I could not afford to live on that salary - and I got a job in a doctor's office - and learned medical billing. I was a laboratory biller and by the time I left (I remarried and now have a 2 year old - plus my 10 and 13 year old) I was making decent money. My office trained me - I was billing for our lab, our PCP- primary care doctors, oncologists, dermatologist, OBGYN - tremendous amount of experience hand on learning. I loved it - I loved the doctors and the environment. They really loved me too - because I was accurate and fast. I learned a lot and I was getting paid to learn. I can't wait to go back - once the little guy gets older. I hope this helps - I really do know how hard it is to be a single mom - I struggled terribly in the beginning - I was just lucky that I did have a college education - even though my degree is worthless. Any education you receive will benefit you - education is always the key to success - so whatever you choose it will help you. Good Luck!

Legal Assistant or Paralegal - it's still an office setting and there may be classes you can take online.

If you want to look smart and be successful, work on your grammer and fix your title. You have a career, you don't learn a career.

Anything in the health field....go to a local community college...talk with those folks...they can help...you need a degree to get and stay ahead..

Maybe you should go to CNA training. Certified Nursing Assistant. Most of the programs are free in the city.

An aptitude test might be something that would show you a better picture of career choices.

Have you ever thought of starting your own business and running it part time from home to begin with, the reason I say part time is you should continue with your present job until the business income reaches a level where you could go full time with it.
That is what I have done and I would never go back to working for some other person. The business I do is simple, does not involve selling and I only work with family, friends and people I meet.
Now I know you might be afraid of this being a scam, and in your position I would be very wary, but what I would like you to take a look at, has been endorsed by the multi-billionaire Donald Trump, and he has called it the best opportunity he has seen.
If you would like to find out more then get back to me by email and I will send you on some web site addresses where you will find more information.

Grewe, you're one to talk about grammar. You can't even spell that right. Give others a chance.
