Sprint Early Termination Fee?

i have been with sprint for 5 years now and my question is when i log on to my account it says my contract expired in 2006.. i now call sprint to confirm before cancelling my service and they say no i am in contract till 06/08 i never signa new contract from my orginal one . i went to a sprint store and showed them that the web site clearly states i am out of contract .. the girl comes back and says she will call the corporate office ..next thing i know the web site says 06/08 ..i did have a print out showing that the contact was over . My question iis should i fight with them or just wait for it to expire angain in 5 months . i just hate teh sprint service and the people that work there ... rather pay more money at att.

this is tricky...

have you ever changed your plan? meaning did you ever have a 550 min plan and then jump it up to the 700 or lower it. Which ever, as of 3 months ago Sprint required that if you made changes to your "rate plan" (the mins you use) that you sign a NEW 2-year agreement. Since this pisses a lot of people off they now have changed it to be that you can change your plan as much as you want without penalty. So that means the only time you sign a new 2 year agreement is at an upgrade. Awesome right?

Im guessing that you made some changes possibly almost a year ago and they hit you with the 2 year re-agreement.

you can fight it.. but if that is the case.. they're going to see it as a valid commitment.

Talk with rentetion and ask for what you want.. you'd be suprized that if you really voice your complaints about your service and explain to them that you've been waiting for the 2 year to end because you are leaving.. they might be willing to do ALOT more just to keep you as thier customer.

I think you should fight it to be honest....when you upgrade a contract there need to be a verification and obviously they don't have one...fax the copy and make copies and keep the original.

If the service isn't too bad right now...just hang on for 5 months.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I think you should fight it but get ready they are going to make plenty of excuse to make you wrong.
I wish you the best of luck!

I say fight it to the end. Sprint always seems to find a way to piss there customers off. Once a month I find myself battling with them over little surprises on my bill, and every month I am getting my account credited for there mistakes.
