Child support court order?

i was not very clear in a earlier letter about child support. i filied for child support from my ex wife back in 10/16/07. got a copy of the summons stating what i have to do and what my ex has to.also got a paper called letter of acceptance of service that i had to take to a notary public and return to the lawyer office as soon as possible. what happen now? can i expect any action soon?

Just getting started. Assuming they actually locate her, you'll be headed for a hearing and a determination and if she is found to owe, about another 90 days out from there you should see cash. If she is still working and to be found.

Sorry to tell you no......it takes months, sometimes years. It's ridiculous. I know someone who has 4 kids with a girl (hes not my friend trust me) & shes been after him for child support for years. The court makes him pay $15 DOLLARS a week for 4 KIDS and he still doesnt pay that. $60 a month to take care of 4 children- and he has 2 jobs! Just depend on yourself. I know it's hard but do what you have to, and then when & if you ever do get a child support check, just use it to take your child out somewhere special....

Hate to say it, but don't depend on it to pay your bills. Put that frustration into something positive. Since you have assigned your right to support to the county, they're going to work at THEIR speed, not yours.

The other way is to try to get your support via a private attorney, which MAY be more effective in the short term, but will cost you. Only you'll know if it's worth it to you.
