To what extent will it take to secure our border how much longer can we continue with incidents like this ?

A U.S. citizen living in Nogales, Sonora, was sentenced Tuesday to 18 months in federal prison after she tried to a smuggle 6-year-old Mexican girl into the United States.
Elvira Belen Madrid, 22, pleaded guilty Nov. 30 to conspiracy to transport an illegal entrant for profit, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney鈥檚 Office.
Madrid tried to use her own daughter鈥檚 Arizona birth certificate to get the girl into the United States, the release says.
An inspector became suspicious because girl should have been 3 years old according to the birth certificate, but she appeared much older, according to the release.
The girl also told the inspector she had a different name than the one on the birth certificate.
The girl turned out to be a Mexican citizen without authorization to be in the United States. Madrid admitted that though she didn鈥檛 know the girl, she was going to receive $200 for smuggling her into the country, the release says.
She was going to leave the girl with two people she knew only by their first names.
Madrid also admitted that she had been arrested, but not prosecuted, when she tried to smuggle a boy into the United States on Sept. 8 using her son鈥檚 Arizona birth certificate, according to the release.
The two children were turned over to the Mexican Department of Family Services and have been reunited with their families.

Court documents obtained Monday show that Abraham Tinajero Martinez and Fidel Tinajero Martinez smuggled a group of immigrants across the Rio Grande near Brownsville.

The two brothers from Mexico drove piled the immigrants in the back of a pickup truck but were detected by Border Patrol agents Friday afternoon.

Both brothers bailed out of the truck during a brief chase where the truck crashed near Solomon P. Ortiz Elementary School on the 2500 block of West Alton Gloor Boulevard.

The two men appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Felix Recio on Monday.

Another question where are all the people who go on about human rights at right now? Smugglers bailing of moving cars near an Elementary School with people still left inside ,a woman taken a Child across the border for finacial gain would this not be child endangerment and abuse to leave a child with 2 people with first names only ?

A further example of the motivation for illegal immigration....money. Nothing more. Amazing how people will trust their own children to a stranger based on $200. These kids don't stand a chance with parents like that.

It will take the creation of the North American Union and the destruction of the laws in the US for people to stand up and say enough. It is well on it's way.

It is unforgivable that after the 9/11 attacks, our politicians have not secured our southern border. Along with drugs, and illegal Mexicans, how many al qaeda sympathizers have been smuggled into our country from Mexico?

Quite simply, we have to complete the border fence, imprison every alien who enters our country illegally, and severely punish those carrying any amount of illegal narcotics.

That are good questions ask the Local DA.

It seems like a no brainer to register guest workers and fine employers that continue to violate that law. Severely !!!

Yet politicians dance around the issue and pander to hispanics for votes.

So we need to elect politicians that will do the right thing for the country and not just pander for votes on a very serious issue.

This is only a couple of incidents that we get to hear about...how many thousand others have taken/are taking place to date?

To all the bleeding hearts who point out how terrible living conditions are in Mexico: It's not our fault nor our responsibility.

You don't know the living conditions people in third worlds have to suffer. Otherwise, you would understand why they are so desperate. It is a sad case that a young child has to be smuggled like that though.

That is why we should make it easier for them to come over legally. So they don't have to go to such extremes.
