Your teacher is giving you a test worth 100 points containing 40 questions. Thereare 2-point and 4-point questions on the test. How many of each type of questions are on the test?

also suppose you are starting an office cleaning service. you have spent $315 on equipment. you clean the office you use $4 worth for supplies. you charge $25. How many offices must you clean to break even?

4x + 2(40 -- x) = 100 => x = 10
10 Qs of 4 - points and 30 Qs of 2-points = 40 Qs of total 100.

(25 -- 4)x = 315 Or x = 315 / 21 = 15.
clean 15 offices.
