Looking for work?

Hi to all of you,

I have a child whose almost 3 years old. I am looking for work. I have been having such a hard time finding a job becaus of my child. I am looking from Monday- Friday 9-4:30. I know it is hard but maybe one of you out there have some leads for me. I have a lot of customer service experience. I would rather work in an office. Please help if you know someone is hiring in ottawa, Canada

I don't live in Ottawa, Canada but here are some tips:

Check in the news papers for adds. Create a really nice attractive resume and start handing it out to a bunch of different companies. Let people know you are looking for a receptionist or secretary type of job. You won't need to know a lot about the company being a receptionist to start out, which will make it easier to find one. But let them know you are willing to learn. Keep track of everyone you send it to so you can follow up. Be persistent and pleasant :)

online job sites are wonderful. Careerbuilder and monster were the best ones I used. Also, check with the unemployment office in your area as well. They may have a website or be able to send you to places. Keep your hopes up and remember it wont happen overnight but it will happen.

With a child it is practically impossible to work outside. It is not as easy as we think it would be.

Try some work at home jobs like you can freelance, transcribe seminars, web designing, web coding, virtual assisstant etcetera
