Is America Ready?

I used to be a big supporter of Barack Obama, but the more I examine the state of our country and listen to him in debates, the more I am tempted to support Hillary Clinton. Hillary has a long resume of public service and political experience. I also would like to see Bill Clinton as a diplomatic ambassador to the world to help mend our international relations with other countries.

It's only been about 40 years since the United States Civil Rights Act was passed, ending segregation. Is America really ready for a black president. I think we need to elect a woman to office before we elect an African American. I like Obama, but I would like to see him as a VP first. What do you think?

There may well may be a black man as president one day, and perhaps a women eventually (though I doubt it), but if either ever happens, believe me they'll be Republicans. Our next president, however, will be a Vietnam war hero and Senator from Arizona (of Irish descent).

I can fix all your problems..

VOTE FOR

MITT ROMNEY

Let me get this straight your a democrat and your wondering if you should vote for the Lady or the Black Guy - how about voting for the best candidate

You gotta love the group politics of the democrats. We need to elect a woman before we elect an African American? Hilarious. You just don't care about the issues at all, do you?
You're stuck trying to decide which is more politically correct.

what comes first blacks or women....hm....what a dumb question.

Neither has as much experience as John McCain.

I think deep down his allegence is to Islam.
Female president. too moody

I'm not much into politics but I don't think you should judge any person by color or gender, but I personally think neither one of them should be president, actually I think neither of them are going to be elected, with the War In Iraq I don't think America is ready to have a black president or a woman..it has to be someone else but I am pretty confident that we will get a democratic president, it has to be.

It's only been about 40 years since the United States Civil Rights Act was passed, ending segregation.

Yeah, and women have only been able to vote since 1920. And that's only 88 years. And they get so moody (you know what I mean) I don't think they're smart enough yet. What if one of them there ladies gets a bug up her @$$ one day and just wants to shoot a missile?

Screw it, let's just give it to the white guy. LOL.

Dear Sir,

I am officially asking for your resignation from the Democratic party.

You are SEXIST and RACIST.

I suggest u base your vote on POLICIES and CHARACTER.

What i think is stupid is that you're only looking at the two 'most popular' canidates.
its not down between the two anyway.

and "I think we need to elect a woman to office before we elect an African American"
why are you even thinking that?
america was brought together from foreigners anyway, so why not vote for a black man. were all the same deep down, unless you're wearing someone elses glasses.

you should think that ones better than the other.
it will resolve itself on its own terms.

Clinton is a great candidate, she will turn us into a Stalinist communist sate and her husband will secure allies among China, Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea. Good thinkin.

I personally think the US isn't ready for a black president, and I have no racist grudges at all. I just can't see white middle class suburbia going that way, even if he was the best candidate out there (not saying he is or isn't).
I think it will go to Clinton, because first she's a democrat and I can't see republicans get voted back in after the current disaster they're in and secondly she has more appeal to mom and dad white middle class than Barack does. Unfortunate but true. Most politicians are voted in more on their personality or appeal rather than their actual true political ideas/wisdom. It's the sad truth.

I am going to vote for Hillary because I believe she would be a better president, not because she is a woman. I really don't believe Obama has put forth any plans that show where he stands on key issues. He has no substance as a candidate and that is basically what it comes down to for me.

as you'd probably imagine, this question should be taken very seriously. Although i feel that America is definitely ready to support and elect a black president, i don't feel like they are prepared for the consequences.

What i mean by that is simple. I believe Obama is the one and that he would be a great president, but his success will result in mixed reactions. For most of america they will embrace him and the color of his skin will not matter, but for others they may be angered, revolt or grow hatred, etc. (the people that are racist) There is no doubt in my mind there will be assasination attempts on his life, and this is the critical thing to be aware of. If he can survive through both of his terms in office, he will have accomplished great things, succeeded, and further elimate racial tension. however, if he is assasinated before that, this is what we have to be prepared for. the aftermath would be of 1 of these 2 results.

1.) If it were to be known that the culprits of the assasination are either related or are involved in racist/supremacist activities this would cause an uproar, mass hysteria, more racial tension, divide the country, and america would not be ready for a black president again for quite some time.

OR

2.) If the assasinated was carried out by infidels/terrorists it may very well ignite the country even more towards unity against the common threats of the 21st century. the black president would then become a martyr, a cavalier, a legacy for patriotism and what not. i may strengthen us to end the war on terror, but we would probably have done the same if he were still alive anyways. plus, there would still be those racists hiding in their corners that would be giddy due to their stubborn, cowardly and unintelligent ways and thoughts. race would still be and will always be a factor because not every single being has a brain and are easily brainwashed/corrupted.

it is possible that both of these results may help or hinder america's future. good or bad. enlightenment or chaos. so when barack becomes president, i am sure they will protect him with everything they can, the best solution is for him to stay alive.

as far as a woman president i won't even go there because is it less significant since i truly believe that america is ready to elect an african american president before they ever elect a woman. its true. for example, if hillary became president and was assasinated, the consequences would be less severe. the sad truth is that far less of the nation would care because she is no michelle obama. FAR FROM IT.

My opinion? I would vote for Barack Obama (if I reached the age requirement.) because one; he graduated from the grade school I attend. Two; people shouldn't be voting for Hillary Clinton just because of Obama's race. Three; though either way would make history, Barack Obama should be our next president because he's new/ upcoming, young, independent, trustworthy, and so on. So PLEASE VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA!![:
