Does OSCR staff at my university have no life?

I have two friends who are dealing with OSCR cases (Office of Student Conflict Resolution) and I think they take things to extreme. One of my friends sent someone an email saying he is a fat ugly nerd but did not say they was going to hurt or stalk him yet that person can be suspended by OSCR for harassment even though it was just one email. One of my other friends was so stressed out about his work and he screamed loud in his dorm room for 10 seconds and is looking at facing probation and community service for disruptive behavior. Do you think OSCR has nothing else better to do in their time?

Sorry to tell you that the email was harassment even if it only happened once, and screaming in the middle of a dorm is disruptive. When you move into a dorm you have to observe the rules and regulation of the dorm. All dorms have a non-disruptive policy. Without OSCR imagine what your campus would be like. Just don't do anything stupid, and you should be fine.
