Under Ontario's Privacy Act, can people (other than office staff) be told when cheque privileges are stopped |
Recently I was advised that a cheque I wrote was returned. It was at a local service club and the Off. Mgr. phoned advising me and I went in immediately and paid service chgs. & reimbursed them. I found out that others were informed of my situation and a note was put in bar staff's pay cheques advising them I could no longer cash cheques. I feel that being told by the Off. Mgr. was more than enough and feel that my privacy was abused. Is there something in Ontario's Privacy Act covering a situation like this? http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/statute... |
