I think i need a new job but i dont know what to do or how to find one?

Iv been working in customer services since March 2007 and im starting to get fed up of the monotony, i used to be a student nurse before this but couldnt afford it and i dont want to go back. Before that all i did was work in a block of flats as an attendant, cleaning up and running the place. Now iv no idea what i want to do, i think office work still but what? Iv got all C's at GCSE (B in History, English Lit/Speaking and RE) and A levels in History (D) Psychology (D) Sociology AS (C) and Media AS (B)

Iv no idea what i am qualified to do, pretty much nothing i assume just the average starting jobs, but i need to do something better, im on 18k /year at the moment and need to save for a wedding which is in 2009 so im desperate to earn more money. Any advice would be absolutely great!!

My job at the moment involves sales which i am good at IMO, usually in the top 10-20 of the 250 people i work with. I feel like i need to take a step up or at least be earning more than 18 thou, (its 14,250 plus comission which is usually about 拢300, im looking for a definate 18k so i can build on that etc)

I live in Peterborough in the UK so am looking for ideas that people might know of in that area. I cant exactly just take any job washing dishes etc because they wont pay, weddings are expensive so i need to be able to afford it better.

Are you into sales? Sales positions can make you alot of money because you can get hourly and commission from sales. If you're not a people person then this wouldn't be for you.

I would say right now in your situation get what ever job u can. Whether its washing dishes or cleaning toilets. Ur getting married soon what's ur problem.

*chuckles* I'm amused, because here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, there's a major labor shortage for low-education / entry level people. A call center employee in sales can make a base of $18 / hr. I hate sales, so I ended up going with a assistant / secretary job for $15 / hr.

What's more important? The monotony or the pay? If pay, try looking just for high paying jobs that you can find. I know a customer service position where I used to live in Phoenix, AZ frequently paid $12-14 per hour.
