Why can't state offices especially DMVs be required to be open later one evening a week?

The majority of people work M-F during the day and if you're like me, you have to lose pay if you're paid hourly. I really think there should be a law where state offices and services should be open until 6 0r 7 one night a week and maybe close early another day so that it's more convenient. At least the post office is open on Saturday mornings! But that's a different government,federal and I am even surprised they are required to be open for normal working people. But then again who said life was fair?!

That is a very good point. I agree.

Try to petition the City Council on that.
