How do I add internet service to an additional comp. in my home office?

I'm using the att internet service on one comp. It's pretty fast. High speed. I like it. However, on my other comp., directly from this one, How do I merge both computers to use the same internet service. Both pc's are XP.

If you are using a router or DSL or 'external' modem see if it has any available jacks. (They USUALLY have several)

If so, simply plug in the other computer to the modem or whatever, and use the connection wizard on the 2nd computer just like you did on the 1st one; OR you could add a 'switch' between the computers and the external unit. The advantage of this is you have a LAN as well, if you set it up correctly.
(SOME external units will automatically create a LAN for you when you attach the second unit to them so long as they both use the same workgroup)

If NOT, then you need to add another ethernet card to your existing system, connect the 2, and set up Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the one that is connected to the internet. Your HELP file should explain exactly how to do this! It is NOT hard to do.

(I have a switch connecting 5 computers on my LAN, and using 1 of those to connect to the Internet. The 'internet' machine has no other use, and that way I only need to install anti-virus on one machine since they ALL use it as an access point to the internet.)

I believe you can set up a router system. I'm not that good at that though. Look up LAN (local area network).
