Has Anyone Carried Out Jury Service On Behalf of Someone Else?

In the news yesterday it was announced that people are now paying others up to 拢500 to take their driving test on their behalf?

I mentioned this to a friend last night and he told me that in his workplace whenever someone important is called up for jury service his employer makes a lower grade employee of the same sex and approximate age take his/her place so that this key employee is in the office.

Apparently when you turn up to do jury service all they want to see is your jury summons and a recent utility bill.

I was wondering how widespread this abuse was. Have any of you heard of such practices going on?

that would be what is termed ILLEGAL!

This is a grave criminal offence, that flies in the entire face of the reasons why we have a jury. It is also, in all probability, a lie!!!

In a world where people impersonate other people at elections ( there have been several instances of prosecutions for this) and get other people to do their exams for them, there must inevitably be abuse of this kind. But who's going to own up and face the consequences?

I am shocked at the attitude of Sue. If she's so marvellous, why doesn't she take the driving test to prove it?
