I am planning to buy medical insurance. Which insurance company provides affordable service with good service.

I am 25 working as a consultant but my company doesn't provide insurance. I am looking for a good insurance company to provide me with affordable service. Also what does term Plan type, Deductible, Coinsurance and Office visit mean in simple terms. I work in seattle.

You could check into individual policies from Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, or United Healthcare. Those are reputable companies and offer individual coverage with different deductible options.

Plan type can be a number of things like a PPO, HMO, etc. The following link gives a description of each

.
Deductible is the portion of any claim that is not covered by the insurance provider. It is normally quoted as a fixed amount and is a part of most policies covering losses to the policy holder. The deductible must be "met", that is, paid by the insured, before the benefits of the policy can apply.

Co-insurance is a percentage or pair of percentages generally with the insurer's portion stated first.

An office visit copayment is the amount of money that you will pay up front when you visit the doctor. There could be a different copayment amount for an emergency room visit.

I hope this helps!

I think that TEA did an excellent job in answering your questions.
One additional comment would concern the co-pay involved for emergency room visits. Many policyholders do not realize that the $100-$200 co-payment is in addition to the annual deductible and co-insurance. It is a penalty, waived only if admitted into the hospital. I'm speaking in general, this may not be the case in other states, but usually this is the case.
Moral of the story...use urgent care centers if not life threatening.

A LOCAL AGENT needs to get this for you. The agent can define the terms for you. It's GOING to cost $250 a month.
