What actions can I take against a medical clinic that provided me less that perfect customer service?

I refuse to pay a charge of $100 to a medical dispensary in MI that made me wait for a length of time in the office and the staff had a very unfriendly demenour about them. Complaining to the office manager only resulted in counter accusation that I was ONLY interested in having my bill reduced, and that she will do nothing about my complaint, and either I pay the entire amount, or face the collection agency and a dent in my credit rating.
The local BBB has already been contacted, and they will not take up the matter as it is beyond their jurisdiction (Bad customer service is beyond their jurisdiction???)
On paper, nothing they did is illegal and their charges are what is allowed by the insurance co. BUT, I feel frustrated that an institution can get away with bad service by threatening their customer with bad credit rating, should they not pay.
Even a courteous chat from the office manager and a polite demeanour would have softened the blow. What are my inexpensive options?

I can totally understand how you feel. The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. In all honesty, they have not broken any laws. The $100 you owe, is not for courtesy--it's medical service. If you have insurance, I would complain to the insurance company and ask for that office to be dropped from their list of providers. If you are not insured...you have no recourse [that has not been mentioned already]--except to discontinue your visits...and spread the word.

Talk to the doctor or owner of the facility, let them know what occurred. This may do nothing to your bill but you'll feel vindicated when you let the owner know that you had a horrible experience and will not recommend anyone to that clinic.

I would speak to the physician who treated you. If he/she can't stop the bad behavior maybe it's time you find a new clinic.
