Problems with expidited service on passport...............?

Hi I paid for a expidited passport asbout 3 and a half weeks ago and have yet to recieve it. i have a trip in less than a month and i checked the website and finally my order is up and they are saying that they are processing it. Now here is my problem, the website says i paid for standard service and should recieve my passport in 10-12 weeks. Huh, i paid and extra 60 dollars to have it shipped quicker so i dont understand. is this just a messup on the website and it really is coming soon or did someone at the post office really mess up? has this happened to anyone else? is this normal? Did they file it as standard? I am gonna lose my mind

I spoke with the passport expert at the post office where I work today. She said that expedited service is taking about 3 weeks.
I would suggest that you contact the post office that you originally went to. Go in person if possible. Explain the situation to them, they should be willing to give you some guidance or help by supplying a phone number where you can reach the passport office.

you need to call Passport Services immediately and find out why it doesn't register that you've paid for expedited delivery. There's no way to tell what really happened unless you contact them directly.

If it's being handled as expedited, the delivery time is 4-6 weeks.

If it's being handled as regular, you will need to prove that you paid the extra (hope you kept your receipts).

Yes, i agree. I hope you wrote a check for it and can prove you paid for the expedite....I had a strange experience too- I had to write two checks- One to the state department and one to the postmaster. The one to the postmaster was cashed but the one to the state department wasnt....I think with such an influx of people trying to get passports quickly, they are just overloaded and are messing up left and right.
Whatever you do, when you call to get it all sorted out, GET THE NAME of the person you talked to!
