What would happen if, overnight, public service organisations cancelled their contracts with management consultants? Aside from saving almost 拢3 billion of taxpayers鈥?money every year 鈥?nothing whatsoever, according to the National Audit Office. Things would proceed precisely as normal.
The national annual consultancy bill has increased by 33% in the past three years with no proof of even the remotest benefit, according to the NAO.
Colloquially, everybody knows that management consultants are parasitical, irritating and utterly useless. But will this reduce the amount of money we give to the likes of XXX or XXX ? You sort of doubt it.
Hugely expensive, pretentious and of not the slightest slightest benefit to mankind, management consultants trade on a kind of faux science, attractive to corporate middle managers who lack confidence in their judgments (because they are thick) but are acutely conscious of the prevailing trends.

It can relate to programming and design because a good samaritan consultant can come in and foul up the programming arrangements, lining his pockets at the same time.
