Anyone else experienced problems with incredibly unhelpful Travelodge 'customer service'?

Through a combination of my stupidity and their online system I mistakenly booked a room at 23.59 for the same night, rather than for the following night as intended. The staff at the lodge itself couldn't have been more helpful. Apparently, "it happens all the time": anticipated my mistake; got me a room at a nearby lodge (I had to pay again); advised me that I could use my 拢1 insurance to get my money back. This turned out to be wrong: I told the truth to the insurance line (when I found it) and was told the insurance didn't cover my 'no show'. Difficult to get TL head office no. but I live nearby so got it eventually. Their Customer Services manager was the worst I've ever dealt with. Latched onto the problem being my mistake and so refused to help in any way. I suggested software warning mod. (Not interested.) Our conversation concluded with him conceeding that he was in a position to help me/refund but chose not to. Any one had a similar experience?

No,i use proper hotels

Travelodge is equal to Motel Six in Quality, you get what you pay for sadly

As a user of Travelodge, they have to run a no room at the inn due to On line booking....and some do not turn up due to problems...then i go at 17.00- 1900 and thay are fully booked due to some not getting the day right....and at 23.59...they have a EMPTY room that i could be in all for you making your error, they are a business there to make money..just like you i guess but you want them to loose out...due to your lack of knowing what day it is.....WAKE UP>>>>>

Depends what you need the offices for. Cost is a major factor. You pay for many services that you may never use or need.
