Why is the N.H.S. still using Victorian Technology to run the health service.?

Consultants are still writing notes to put in folders that frequently get delayed between departments, causing wasted time and millions of 拢's, in treatments and patient's care. Appointments are being made only after they have gone through two or three different clerks offices. Is it not possible, in the 21st century, that the administraters could learn computer skills. or is it just that they couldn't organise a Sunday school picnic.

What can i say... nothing and no one is perfect and whilst human beings continue to be predominant human error and failings (on all scales) will still exist.

its cheaper

Under funding by central government - don't knock the NHS it's the envy of the world! (or so we are told).

dont ask me,,, try that dork at number ten

don't know about this

Hmmmm... you actually expect competency and efficiency from a government bureaucracy? How long have you been having these peculiar delusions?

I had experience of that very thing yesterday my notes had been lost and could not be found...not the first time this has happen. Worse still I had been sent the results of an xray that showed a really bad prognosis. It turned out the results were not mine but someone elses. I had been worry for weeks about these results. And perhaps worse still some poor soul who is terminally thinks they are well.

I think that you have unwittenly undermined the Victorians as they took much more care whilst writing up notes and were extremely fastidious when you consider what equipment they had to work with.

You may find this hard to believe but the last time I saw the Doctor at the hopital he wrote my notes up on the back of scrap of paper.

Oh yes Mr Blair...(who everyone seems to be praising right now) has left the NHS in a sorry old state.

Oh I shall be putting a complaint into NHS Grampian.

The National Honor Society runs a health service???

I have nothing but the most highest respect for the NHS where I live.
Since my accident at work in 1994, I have have been treated with very modern equipment by very highly trained staff.

I can only speak for our hospital which they intend to close down.It is exceptionally clean appointments & treatment are first class. We have a clinic for minor surgery which is brilliant
& typical they will be making us go to a hospital that has not got the standards that ours has,so what will it be like having to cater for our Town.My next door neighbours daughter & son in law travel 10 miles rarther then go to that one.
