Does the U.S. Post Service work on commission?

I swear - the workers in the post office are the pushiest sellers. When I go in there all the time to ship things, I always say, "The cheapest way." Even if I say that, they still try to push the priority mail by saying, "It's just a dollar more."

Or, they try to ask if I need a passport photo, stamps, etc. If I wanted any of these things, I'd get them. Who goes to the post office just for fun? Usually, I have a reason why I'm there.

Do these people work on commission?

No. Job performance is rated on this though.

No commission but they are expected by management to sell, sell, sell.

If a mystery shopper comes in and the clerk does not try to sell him something else there will be trouble.
