Limit the years of "service"?

Should we limit the number of years any politician can be in office?
I mean being a politician for 10, 20, 30 or more years is a bit much. What say you?

The only problem with this is the experience required to govern. Constantly revolving farmer or mechanic or Doctor Bob's isn't going to make government any better. Just when they get the hang of it they are asked to leave.

Maybe if we had minimum requirements for service, like degrees in public administration, law or political economy, we could rotate people through government faster.

Yes. No one person should be a career politician. It's suppose to be a civic duty not a career. Do the bit and move on.

yes it would help prevent the coruption going on

We tried in 1995. U.S. Term Limits v Thornton. The liberal elitist judges on the Supreme Court struck it down. The people make their desires known and the elite left rule against their wishes.

Absolutely.... Two terms for a senator, four terms for a Representative. It would keep a flow of creative, new ideas coming in.... and keep Congress from getting mired in special interest corruption. The only creativity we've seen out of Congress in recent memory is the redrawing of Congressional districts to give them a huge advantage toward reelection.

Term limits would solve a lot of America probelms.

Lets limit the Supreme Court Justices to 85 years old, max. I would be for that.

If the other side can't find a suitable opponent that's their own fault.

I say 4 years top! We at the Balkans have that problem. Same ugly faces for a decades. Change is good!
