Going Postal over the Postal Service?

Will a UPS Package go to the U.S. Post Office if I'm not there to sign for it?

No. UPS is a private company, whereas the USPS is a government-sanctioned corporation.

UPS, at least here in Kentucky, is supposed to drop the package(s) off even if you're not there to sign for it. I mean, if you're there, then they will ask and expect you to sign for it. But, if the UPS man sees that you're not in the office (if it's your workplace) or that your car isn't in the driveway (if it's a home delivery) and he knocks on your door or inquires about your whereabouts and still can't find you, then he's supposed to leave the package.

EDIT: in response to the above poster, if the package CAN go to the post office, I've never had that happen.

haha when i first saw this
i thought u were asking about the band
haha Report It

Yes but you can pick it up the next day

No, they won't deliver to the post office neither does fedex.
If it is something that has to be signed for don't they usually leave a note on your door to pick up at ups?

This is a trick question.

UPS and USPS have a deal brokered that if you have a postal service confirmation bar code on it, we will accept it.

HOWEVER, if you have a UPS package sent to the Post Office address and you hold a PO box there (so the address is like 123 main street, Apartment 12), the Post office has the right to refuse it
