If the question applies, how long did it take you to get your U.S. passport using expedited service?

Also, if you went to a passport office to get it because you needed it in a pinch, do you leave with the passport and do you have to pay more money?

You can't go to a passport office to get it. It takes time to process. If it's expedited, you'll get it in 2-3 weeks. Mine wasn't expedited and it still came within 3 weeks much to the surprise of my husband.
