Wedding on a budget......? |
i am looking for ideas on how you would do a budget wedding, you see me and my partner dont work, my dad is always broke, and my mum is disabled, so she doesnt have much money, and we dont wanna rely totally on my in-laws, i have a few ideas already but just wandered what others thought, any ideas at all would be great thanks, oh and it will be a registry office service....thanks in advance we are living together, and have a daughter, i was working for a while, the reasons we arent is i am looking after our child why he is studying, decent paid jobs need bits of paper!! Here are some ideas, and ignore the idiots who are critisizing you. You dont need a photographer, just get copies off the family and friends who attend. You will get some great pics. umm best idea is to plan a small ceremony. maybe 20 people maximum. courthouse or if you have a preacher who would do it for no charge. have your mum take pictures with a disposable. should cost about 100 dollars. just get food that you both love. take out or a bbq. that would be simple and sweet. Um, how are you and your partner going to support a marriage with no money? Why not get jobs first then get married and that way you can live on your own as a couple instead of with family? What's the big rush? I totally understand what you're going through. Things dont always go the way that you want them to be. Just try doing something very simple, where your loved ones will be, you don't need a horse carriage or an expensive car. Just do what you can afford, the only important thing is that you're going to be with the one that you love, in harmony and also being surrounded by those who love you. Memories lasting a lifetime. Think about it. you dont need a big fancy wedding to prove you love eachother! just have your day at the registry office with close family...then afterwards go for a nice pub lunch - that wont cost a fortune..and it will still be a day you remember for the rest of your life. We got married on a budget too. We married at a registry office, and had our reception in a local pub. We just paid to hire the function room, and family and friends helped prepare the buffet. We had a great day and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg! Good luck! our son chose to get married at a judge's office. it was very simple, and very sweet. we bought a bouquet for her and her daughter. afterward, went to a late breakfast together. it's not about the wedding... it's about your marriage. congrats! the day is about you and your partner not spending loads of money.as i know you understand. Go with simple, registry office and a function room somewhere (some places offer a function room with refundable hire). ask friends and family to help out with food etc and anything they can. even with making bridesmaids outfits if you choose to have your daughter as one. Glad to hear you are getting married for love and not money. That's the way I done it. I couldn't see the point in a big meringue layer dress costing thousands of pounds that was only going to be worn once, so I wore a cream long skirt with matching lacy cream top with a cream hat and big bow and goldie coloured sandels. It felt good to be different and elegant. And I got to wear them again afterwards. My whole outfit cost me 拢150. That was 6 years ago. A family member made the wedding cake and we hired out a hall and had a buffet. Family helped out with sandwhiches and cakes, minerals tea and coffee. My brother in law took the photos and we got them enlarged and put into frames. As a present family paid for the band and flowers. Another brother in law used his car as the wedding car. It doesn't cost a fortune to get married. These are some of my ideas that I done and we have the best day of all. The only thing we paid for was the rings and our outfits. Family and friends clubbed together to do the rest. My sister was bridesmaid and she bought herself a burgundy long summer sleeveless dress. The men of the bridal party hired out their own suits. Hope my ideas give you a good help. I had a church wedding. For a registry office service you can keep it plainer the that if you want to. Good Luck I got married just last Wednesday. I put together a wedding for under $3,500. Including a venue, a buffet, and an open bar. You have to communicate with your friends and loved ones...I'm sure they'll help. I hired a few friends to be servers, bartenders, and my DJ. Go to fabric stores for the table clothes. Use tiny binder clips to hide flaws; that way you can also give your tables a little decoration too. Hit up Liquidations, dollar stores, and stay away from actual bridal shops; they'll rob you blind! Go to the mall...look at prom dresses for your wedding gown and make add ons. For favors for the guest, buy cheap knick knacks....candles, cool little lighters, chocolates, etc. Make your own flower bouquets. It'll save at least a hundred dollars. It'll be a lot of work but will be worth it. Tell your brides maids to wear the same color but can pick their own styles. That way they'll like it and you won't have to pay for it. Go to a store that you can buy food in bulk for the guests. I hope this helped. After having your wedding at the registry office you could celebrate at a local restaurant - if you approached one that doesn't open at lunchtime you may have the place all to yourselves, or you could have a wedding picnic in someone's garden or a party at your house. Whatever you choose it will be special. just have a small wedding, and have a finge buffett afterwards but make sure your guests buy their own drinks, instead of pressies ask guests for money to help pay for flowers, cakes Registry office and a get together at home with a few guests. Don't waste money on bridesmaids or any other unnecessary stuff. At the celebration party afterwards you could make do with just a cake and a little booze, but you could ask your guests to bring a bottle or a dish to the party. Whatever you do, please DO NOT ask your guests for money to help pay for the wedding. It's incredibly tacky and tasteless and puts pressure on those with little money, bringing food or a bottle of wine is cheaper. why not have a wedding next to the tent you'll be living in? Sounds like you need to get busy and grow up, we all have to work to live! |
