There's an office position with a family services center (government job) in my town. Should I apply?

I have to drive 1 hour just to take a civil service test, and that doesn't guarantee an interview. I have a BS in Management, but I'm having a hard time finding a job in my field (HR). The job pays up to 34K a year, which isn't too bad for an office job. I thought maybe I should get my foot in the door and go from there. Any advice or suggestions? I'm so confused and I need a job so bad. It's been a week since I graduated and I'm getting nervous!

Gee. do you want a job? 2 hours of driving at least gives you a chance to get the job.

It's always easier to find a job when you already have job. I'm not sure why that is, maybe it's just seems that way because you're not so nervous about finding one.

Anyhow, relax, it took me almost 4 months to find a good job after graduation. I started close and worked my search out farther and farther, sometimes driving several hundred miles a day to an interview and back home..
