Talk to travel agencies for joint promotion projects because they send customers to beach holidays, like to Hawaii or Bahamas, or holiday resorts with swimming pools.

Web-based marketing is becoming dominant.

Yahoo as well as other search engines is trying to replace the telephone yellow pages by selecting EXACTLY 3 local businesses.

You can test with any type of business in any city. In some cases, you will have to use a phrase like "real estate appraiser in dallas texas".

These ad results are free, but you need to understand the website content which is most likely to put your listing in one of the three positions.

Here's another test. Identify a successful competitor and analyzer their website. Are they using Google Adwords to find customers? Do they use a coupon or promo code to identify the lead source?

Remember the old selling maxims.
1) Sell the sizzle, not the steak.
2) You need a USP: Unique Selling Proposition. Once you have top position on the search engines, you still need a reason that distinguishes you from 50 competitors.

Even though you like freebies, if your competition pays $1 per Google Adword click, is it really out of your budget to pay $1.05?
