What should we do??? |
I work within a small town taxi/delivery service. I am senior staff. Recently, one of our employees has recieved a peace bond/restraining order from his soon to be ex-wife for utterly threats. The court gave him a conditional sentence, so he could keep his job, but the order still stands. He is to stay away from her home, place of work and not to talk to her. However, she continues to come to our office, obtain services from us, and upset my fellow employees with her tall stories and accusations. I am thinking LEGALLY that we should not be providing any services to her, but my coworkers disagree. Can someone tell me what we should be doing? They won't allow me to seek legal advice on this matter? They disagree with me. There are 3 other companies she can obtain services from. And I am inquiring on this matter due to the best interests of my company. I could care less about her. I just care that she is upsetting the OTHER employees. >> They won't allow me to seek legal advice on this matter? << I think you should get a restraining order on HER, regardless of what your co-workers say. Look, just stay out of it. Pretend as if she didn't exist. Don't get involved in other people's business! You're going to regret it. It's up to the employee/husband to report the actions of his ex-wife to the courts in an effort to obtain a gag order, not you. Keep in mind that if he causes his company to lose business, he is likely to suffer the consequences. if you have a restraining order against you and she continues to use the same firm as you work at.. 1 is there another service she can use 2 if she comes to his work place she is in breech because she is intimidating him at his workplace so she should have a court judgement preventing her from going to his workplace it works both ways. seek legal advice from the court that issued the peace bond you will fine she is in breech . It's a legal question, and you really need to consult with a lawyer - I don't know who the "they" is that is preventing you from legal advice - if it's other staff, they're opinion doesnt' matter, you are the senior staff. i would chat w/ the law,, if he has to stay away from her thenit should be the same for her also,,, You need to tell her to take her business elsewhere. |
