How do i take a company to court?

I stayed in a formula 1 hotel in Fance and was unhappy with the service, The UK office have stated French law applies to this case so how do i take them to court to get a refund.

The answer is simple.

You lodge a claim in the court local to Forumule 1 head office, claiming that they are in breach of contract.

You complete the claim form (in French) and then give an address for service upon you within the jurisdiction of the French Court (i.e not the UK).

You serve your witness evidence in due course (in French) and receive theirs (in French) and then you attend before a French 'Justice' in the local French court and you have a trial, conducted in French.

At the end of which, you will undoubtedly lose becasue poor service does not entitle you to a refund and therefore you will receive a large bill of costs from Formule 1 which can be enforced via the UK courts; and if you don't pay the next time you set foot in France they'll arrest you and impound your car.

Sounds well worth it to me for the 拢30 you'd receive if you won.

Have you tried writing to the head office with your complaint first.

Hire a French Attorney, however, you are very likely wasting your time as you did not mention that they "Guaranteed" their service or your total happiness with it (in writing).

To be honest, if you stayed in a Formule 1 hotel, it was at a budget price. Trying to get any compensation out of an overseas business is going to cost you more in time, effort, and money , than you will ever recoup. Whatever the problem, you'll be better off forgetting it!

French company... alleged 'offence' happened in France, therefore only court with any jurisdiction is a French Court. And come on, Formule 1 cost about 30 quid a night - is it really worth it???

Well, presumably you'd have to take them to court in France, and you'd need a lawyer - representing yourself will leave you without a leg to stand on. Surely it's not worth all the hassle..?
