why is it that ross(the store) does not hire anyone under 18, when the labor law states that anyone who is 16 can work in retail, food, or office occupation services. Which ross falls in the category of retail. Is this age discrimination? Yep it is, it's a form of LEGAL discrimination, not illegal. Federal Law protects people over the age of 40, and the state of Oregon protects people over the age of 18. That means you can be LEGALLY discriminated against for being too young. |
