What to wear for an interview as a receptionist?

office, receptionist, customer service management

Dress like you are going to church. And if you do not go to church, then perhaps an informal, but nice dinner out on the town.

You have to dress better than the best dressed person interviewing for the same position.

Nothing too sexy. Light makeup only. Zero perfume. Smile and look interested.

Black or dark blue suit. No perfume. Light makeup. Not alot of jewelry. Carry a briefcase with resume in it. Don't drag a purse along. Doesn't look professional. Make sure no runners in panty hose. Firm handshake and good luck.

If possible, check out what others in the same office wear (if there are others) and dress in a similar manner.

Dress professionally ... a suit is preferable. Make sure you have appropriate accessories (purse, shoes, jewelry). Also make sure you have appropriate make up, no tatts showing and proper foundation garments. Also if you wear nail polish make sure it's a fresh manicure... no chips or gnawed away. And don't marinate in your cologne.

A receptionist is the first person someone sees when they arrive at a company. The company wants to be represented well.... the receptionist is the 'first impression.' Look the part.

Wear professional clothes, similar to what you would wear when you have the job, and how you would represent your company.
