Moving to Atlanta early 2009?

I have a question I plan on moving to Atlanta from St. Louis early 2009 after I have my baby. I want to know what the best advice would be as far as residential areas. Hopefully I can get a job transfer from my job the company I work for is Magellan Behavioral Healthcare Services and the office in Atlanta, GA. is located in Alpharetta county. Which I already looked online and its pretty expensive. Basically I need some advice on childcare services and residential living that would accomidate me and my child.

A couple of things that I can help you with is that you need to find a place to live that is close to where you are working. Traffic coming down 400 from Alpharetta to Atlanta can be brutal! The second thing is that Alpharetta is a town not a county. The county is Fulton, and its North Fulton actually. There are lots of daycare centers in the area which is booming with development. Good luck with the baby and the move!

you want to live VERY CLOSE to your job. the closest highway to Alpharetta will be GA 400 and that is a nightmare road during rushhour!! 285 and 400 will drive you to road rage and you only have to go 2 damn miles to your exit!!!!

the cities of Alpharetta, Roswell, and Sandy Springs have slightly higher rental rates but its worth the trouble to live in your job's neighborhood. trust me!

you can find trustworthy daycare all over Atlanta. lots of moms have daycare/babysitting in their homes. the ladies that work at your new job will have some good ideas. you can also find daycare services on craigslist (atlanta.craiglist.org).
