Please help,cant sleep!! :(?


ive been trying for hours & i need my sleep,i have to provide customer service to people in an office.is there any drink,pill,drug or whatever that will make me sleep when i goto lay down??

Benadryl, causes drowsiness in some people

ask god to have His angels watch over you

milk and cookies or just warm milk. or get Melatonin tablets- it's the natural sleep hormone or something and competely risk free

sleeping pills are available

i bet your looking at the pc monotor toooooooo long take a break

A glass of warm milk? And if that doesn't work, try taking some wine.

have you ever considered asking God, the giver and maker of sleep, to enable you to sleep instead of taking pills or medicine?

Milk & cookies--tryptophan in milk & carbos in cookies affect seratonin in brain. Many herbal teas are out there. Take an aspirin--subtle pains can keep you awake. Hot shower/bath,, relaxes the body,. a fan or other white noise source will keep noise disruptions to a minimum. If your mind won't shut up--a conscious acknowledgement of your worries & a "I can't worry about that today, I'll go crazy if I do--I'll worry 'bout that tomorrow." (Scarlette O'Hara in Gone w/the Wind) will do just as good as a prayer of protection. But whichever works for ya.

stop looking at the screen, it makes it worse! and don't watch tv either, for the same reason.

do you have a friend in another time zone you can call briefly? or a late night friend? i find that helps me, to just talk to someone for a minute.

turn off all the lights and think of something good/ rewarding/ comforting

Get Exedrin PM. It's a over-the-counter pill and fairly common.

find the root of the problem- dun depend on drugs or etc
make sure you have a balanced diet, avoid cafferine when nearing your sleeping time.
Maybe you can read some real boring books or listen to some music that you know will bound to make you sleepy.

There are a variety of reasons for individuals to not sleep well. Look up on the internet and you will find a variety of suggestions.

From personal experience, one of the most helpful for me is to engage in some exercise sometime during the day. This can be formal exercise or just working hard physically for a time doing something like gardening or other physical type work.

Another thing that helps me to settle down before going to bed is to play the piano or to listen to some calming music.

Try some relaxation methods. Meditation can really help. Don't go to bed until you are really tired and you can't keep your eyes open. If you went bed and wasn't able to fall sleep after about 30 minutes, get out of bed and do something relaxing, read a book or just lay down on sofa and watch TV.
Your bedroom should be the place that you rest and sleep. Don't watch TV in your bedroom. Make your bedroom your sanctuary.

These were advices my doctor gave me. If you tried all these and nothing worked, then try some over the counter sleep aid (you can ask a pharmacist to help you choose the best pill available).

I use Benadryl or herbal tea when I feel like I need to take something. Saying my night time prayers is the best when I've been trying for hours and still not sleeping. Let our heavenly father help you ease your weary soul and find rest. Jesus Christ our shepherd watches over his sheep as they rest. If its been a while since you've prayed start with a childs prayer. Such as..now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the LORD my soul to keep if I should die before I wake, I pray the LORD my soul to take..Sweet Dreams and GOD bless.
