What should i do i have no money no where to go? my land lord is harrashing me.? this is not about money this is to stop the land lord!!!! for god sake, get a job although it's only a temporary job. you don't have money to pay the rent but you need to feed your child. If you have proof that the rent is actually paid, I'd suggest you go to your local police and file a report for harassment. They should explain you what you should do when you get there. Just make sure you can prove that 1) the rent is paid and 2) that she is really harassing you. Even if you didn't pay the rent, she has no right to harass you except have you legally evicted, meaning she cannot do it yourself. She can however notify you that she will take some actions, but this should NOT be in a harassing manner. I think by law you have thirty days to vacate the premises if you were served an eviction notice. If you're unhappy there it's better to leave. Find family, friends or a shelter until you can get your money together to get your own place. Good Luck! Well if the rent is paid SHE CAN'T KICK YOU OUT DAH! but I'm confused as you somewhat contradict yourself...you say you have no where to go and you have no money but how is the rent paid and if its is paid you can't just be kick out. Something is not right here. GOOD LUCK! you can get a restraining order against the landlord in your local court or sometimes the local police can give you one she can not evict you for that or just because, call the housing counseling agency or go to http://www.hud.gov/renting/index.cfm good luck You need to get a job first of all, Borrow a tent ..... One way to get out the letter she wrote would be to get witnesses of you out of town to write a letter stating that you were with them in another town and then get it signed by a notary (this is cheap). Then you could send the letter's along with your explanation to the owner of the building along with the management company. If the owner of the building is nowhere to be found, I would demand to speak with this person's supervisor and explain the situation. Save your receipts from your trip out of town and the documentation from where she wrote you up as if you were there. Do not tell her you were out of town. Write down every time she harasses you, date, time and what happened. Then you can do one or both of the following. Contact the police and let them know what is going on. Give them a copy of the list and see if you can get a restraining order or whatever your state has. Contact a lawyer. A landlord is expected to provide you with a comfortable living environment. If you have paid your rent and you are not bothering others by being loud or messy or violating your lease in any way, the landlord has no right to bother you. It takes some time to get an eviction and there has to be a reason for it, so I don't think you are at risk here. Save up what you can or if you are in section 8 housing find an alternate provider and get out of there! You have enough to worry about as a parent without dealing with this too. |
