I am renting a house that went back to the bank on the 14th of April. The realty office in which i pay rent through refuses to give back our sec dep until we move and give them keys. We already made a deal with the appointed reo broker to turn in the keys by the middle of may! The trustee deed has been publicly recorded and new owner change on the assesors! They still refuse to acknowledge this? We have the right to get or deposit back now correct? Your security deposit is actually now owned by the foreclosing bank. You should contact the bank for information re: The security deposit is returned after you move out, not before. It may be used to clean and repair. Do a good job cleaning and fix any broken things in the house. You cannot say it was that way when you moved in, unless it is on the walk-through inspection when you moved in. |
