Ok, we have purchased a business, the business client list is on a database, and it took 12 months to complete the transfer of the database contents, it was bought over a period of 41/2 years, and rent for an office was on top. After 3 years, the other business has folded (voluntary, and limited), we were paying the other company by direct debit, and the lease was written up between us and the other company owners, not done through a solicitor, and when you read the lease, the payments are down as rent only, no mention of business purchase, so if the other business has gone bust, do we have to pay the remaining 13 months payments, or tell them to go away, they broke the lease terms within a month anyway, and the database was 6500 clients when we bought it, but when we filtered it to relevent clients, it was only 2700 clients, any advice please.
