How do I get Attorney advice?

I am very, very low income. I'm on SSD & SSI. I am in low income houseing. Sense moving to another state, of course my SSI dropped. When the lady at the office needed my "income" I furnished it and of course I hadn't even recieved SSI yet for this state.
It is below $171 per month. IN MY RENTAL LEASE.............It says: ALL TENANTS MUST REPORT ANY CHANGES MORE THAN $200 per month. Well, my SSI isn't $200, and sense they have access to everything, their trying to raise my rent by $50 and I', only living on $37 a damn month!!
Can I FIGHT this? I mean, is the LEASE correct or is their increase, saying I didn't report?

Check your area to see if there are any free or low cost legal clinics. If your local university has a law school there would probably be one there. You can also look on findlaw.com to find an attorney.

Wow I am so sorry for your trouble. Seems to me there are Section 8 attorneys? I would go to the housing authority and talk to them directly to see what they advise. I am guessing at the Section 8, If you aren't in that program, it may help to look into it. With regard to the lease-what is in writing usually wins the day.

what is wrong with our county, how does one live on$37a month, and i know what it feels like to live on a low income. But i am pretty shore that they have public defenders that just do housing please check them out

You should be honest all the way to avoid more problems.Find a social worker in that area.
