Do you know any good job websites, (other than the main ones...?)?

I also just need advice, I have been a working artist, freelancing for 15 years and want to get a full time job with benefits. While I'd love to still be able to be creative, I realize how hard this is, and would work in an office. How do I transition into this type of job? I feel like my resume, although filled is as good as a blank piece of paper. I've been looking for a while and am really frustrated; it seems like the only options for me don't pay enough to cover gas, rent, car insurance, etc.

I need to pay my bills! Help!

Many thanks!!

You may register at freelance website like http://www.getafreelnacer.com/ and bid for all projects suitable to you, however bid as less as possible initially.

http://www.craigslist.com

Most jobs actually aren't posted on those kinds of sites. I learned through my own job hunt (and my local county Workforce Center) that only 20% of available jobs end up on websites or in the newspaper. Most people get jobs through networking.

If you are looking for work in the artistic field, and you've already done freelancing, you've already got a great start on building a network. Sit down with a pen and paper (or your computer) and make a list of all the companies you've done work for. Then start contacting the people you worked with at those companies, thank them for working with you, and inform them you're looking for a full-time artist job. Asking if you can email a resume might be helpful.

You might also go to the places in your community where artists gather and start asking around. If your area has a state-run school with an art department, that's a good place to start too. As a taxpayer, you have access to the school's library and many other resources.

Good luck!
