Has anyone felt the pain of the Ca. economic crisis. what is going on in our state..?

We are of the working class combined my husband and I make $40,000 a year gross..not what actually comes home with us...We have no extravagant bills,no credit cards, normal 1 car, health, home , and car insurance. Phone, utilities, cable, and internet. Until recently all of these things were easily paid. We rent and can hardly pay that on time now, and our bills are never paid to a zero balance. I can't even go to the grocery store without out spending at a minimum of $40 for just the essentials. We are a family of 5, My husband has 2 jobs I have only 1, and now we have taken on side jobs like mowing lawns, just so we have gas money for the week. I can't afford a second fulltime job because daycare has sky rocketed as well.I felt ridiculous because I had to go down to the welfare office to apply for medi-cal so we could save on health insurance..Am I the only one??? what is happening? I feel so lost, we are working class people just trying to manage a household. Any suggestions

Yes, leave California. You have one of the most liberal and socialistic states in the union. The business climate sucks. Making it more and more difficult to find good jobs in your state. You have cities like San Francisco which welcomes homeless people and illegal aliens with open arms. Stretching social services and jacking up the prices for people like you who have to pay for them. And then you have to pay taxes to support others. You have regulations in your state higher than the rest of the nation which drives up the cost of almost everything and further drives businesses and good jobs away. I say vote with your feet. Move to Arizona, the home of our next President.
