How can Hill claim to be a doer when the campaign she's running is so poor, but Obama's is top notch?

Yet when you look at how the campaigns were run, the opposite seems to be true. His campaign has been tight, effective, and hit all the right notes. He's prepared for every primary and caucus. Her campaign has been a mess, with staff turnover, no presence in so many states, and Bill running wild. On top of that, there are stories about NH office rent not being paid and facilites left trashed by the Clinton people.

Are we supposed to ignore how she actually runs things and rely on how she thinks she runs things? Is there anything she's run to which she can point and back up her claim that she can get things done?

You make a reasonable point. I don't think it's so much an issue of whether she is a "doer." It has to do with judgment and administrative skills. She's made a few mistakes during the campaign, and that's going to have an impact on people's perception about her abilities.

The "Bill factor" is an important part of this. If Hillary were elected, her presidency would be unique, as she's married to a former president. This would present opportunities and risks. Unless I've missed something, she hasn't been specific about what Bill's role would be. Looking at his role *now,* he is something of a loose cannon.

Obama's experience as a "community organizer" is often seen as a minor part of his resume. But maybe it has served him well.

I remember McGovern's presidential bid in 1972. He lost that election badly. It wasn't that his ideas were unpopular -- quite the contrary. But he never won people's confidence, because he ran such a bumbling campaign.
