How do i get a po box?

The post office says I need a lease. I do not have a lease (I rent a room). They also said I need to get have mail that was sent to my residence. I cannot receive mail at my residence. basically i have no proof of where I live. what am i supposed to do??? I thought anyone could get a po box?????

I thought anyone could have a PO box also. According to the postal service web page, you can have one near your home or your work - so I don't get the lease thing. Also, it says if you are a club or a group you can have a PO box. On the web page it says you simply fill out a form and submit it and pay. It doesn't say anything about proof of residence. You do have to have picture identification of some sort. Check this out:

They must have changed things. I had one for a couple years when I was moving around and had no permanent address.
