About Apartment Lease Agreement? |
I signed a six month lease agreement. During my stay I was constantly harassed by my neighbor living under me. I told the spanish girl in the office and the manager that soon as my lease was up I was moving. Ok, I paid my rent for six months every dime of it. When it was time for me to move the manager told me; I had to stay two more weeks because I did not give them a 30 day written notice. Even though we had already spoken proir about me leaving because of the constant harassment by my downstair neighbor. They have put this on my credit report. I have requested a validation form from them at this point. Plus they kept my three hundred dollar deposit. I would like to know do I have a case because I verbally told them 30 days proir that I was moving. I paid for all six months, they kept my deposit and harassment from my neighbor. Sorry there, you have no case. They could have taken the verbal as just ranting. The notice needed to be in writing. Most apartments require that you give them a 30 day written notice of your desire to move. It most likely was in your lease....most people don't pay attention to the small print. Nope, you have to have it in writing. Next time you'll know, but right now, ya gotta pay up. you have to give 30 days notice in writing |
