I need to get out of my lease, ASAP? |
I recently relocated from Michigan for a better job opportunity in Charleston, SC. My job in Michigan wasn't going to last long.I signed a lease for 13 months in Michigan of $1030 per month. Here in this new place the rent is $1225 per month. My lease in MI isn't up until March31 08, I cannot keep both places, The leasing office told me that I have to keep paying until March 31st 08. It's not possible for me to do that. Please help. Read your MI lease - it should have a clause to break it. Usually you have to pay a penalty of 1 or 2 months rent. If your lease does not have that language - would they be willing to negotiate that? Deciding to move is not grounds for breaking a lease. A lease is a contract, and it has a starting date and an ending date. You agreed to both of those dates when you signed it. Find him a new tenant. you could sublet it and end up paying less per month until the lease expires.or find an approved tennant to take it over.other wise the landlord can sue and win.the lease ie probily iron clad |
